It’s important to find a dental home where family members of all ages can receive high-quality dentistry in a warm and friendly environment. That is exactly what you will find at Sound Dental Solutions, and we’re excited to tell you more about our practice!

As your general dentist in Arlington, WA, Dr. Andrew Kim, DDS is your primary care provider for your oral health needs. General dentists are very well-versed in dental practice, and many people are surprised to hear that they learn over 100 different procedures!

Prevention Is the Foundation for a Healthy Smile

A critical role that Dr. Kim plays is educating his patients about prevention and their own dental needs. In some cases, we only see patients every six months for preventive teeth cleanings and exams. That means we need to show them the steps they can take to be proactive with their dental health at home.

It’s always better for you, your long-term oral health, and your budget to prevent decay and gum disease from developing. Small steps like learning how to brush and floss correctly, staying up-to-date with teeth cleanings, and eating a nutritious diet help keep your teeth healthy and you out of the dental chair.

How Can We Help You? Diagnosing Your Dental Needs

A general dentist can’t treat you until they know they understand your current condition oral health condition. To determine this, Dr. Kim uses diagnostic procedures, including:

  • Dental examinations
  • Digital x-rays and scans
  • Panoramic x-rays
  • Intraoral photos
  • Chart existing conditions

Once Dr. Kim has all the information he needs, he discusses his findings with you. Using the digital x-ray images and intraoral photos, he points out conditions that need our attention, such as cavities, worn, broken or cracked teeth, and gum disease.

Your Personalized Dental Treatment Plan

If you need restorative dentistry, your treatment plan may include:

  • White tooth-colored fillings
  • Dental bonding
  • Porcelain crowns and bridges
  • Root canals
  • Tooth extraction

Your gum health is another crucial part of dental care, and many of our treatment plans also include periodontal care.

Gum Disease Prevention and Treatment

Periodontal care is non-negotiable because healthy teeth require healthy gums for support. Unfortunately, gum disease is a widespread problem, with nearly half of all US adults over age 30 experiencing some degree.

In addition to preventive teeth cleanings every six months, Dr. Kim offers gum disease treatment tailored for your needs.

If our hygienist finds gum disease in its early stage, we can often reverse it with a thorough tooth cleaning; if we don’t find it until its advanced stage, we recommend deep teeth cleaning called scaling and root planing.

General Dentistry, Dental Implants, TMJ Treatment, and More

At Sound Dental Solutions, you’ll also find advanced dental procedures, such as dental implant placement and restoration and TMJ pain relief and treatment.

Once your teeth and gums are healthy, we would love to talk to you about taking your smile to the next level with our beautiful cosmetic dental services.

General Dentistry Technology

Intraoral Cameras

Your dental health shouldn’t be a mystery, and with intraoral cameras, it doesn’t have to be. When our dentist uses these tiny digital cameras as part of your dental exam, you become a part of the process. As the images appear on your chairside monitor, Dr. Kim will explain what you see, and you’ll become an active player in your own dental care.

Now, instead of being told you have a cavity, you can see the dark spot on your tooth and understand why we recommend a tooth filling. We can also save still images of your dental exam so that they are always readily available for reference.

Digital Records

Everything is digital these days, so it makes sense for us to make the switch from paper records to digital record-keeping. All your information is stored safely and securely on our in-house network and is instantly available to our dental team at the touch of a button.

Digital records are also useful for sharing your information with specialists and insurance companies as needed.
