Modern Dentures Enhance Your Smile

Missing teeth aren’t just a problem for the older generation; tooth loss can occur at any age, and many people in their 30s and 40s have dentures.

What they’ve discovered is that fake-looking dentures are a thing of the past. There’s no comparison between older, fake-looking dentures and the modern, lighter versions we use at our Arlington dental office.

Modern materials and technology give us much more control when customizing dentures and allow us to design one-of-a-kind dentures for your unique smile. Dentures in Arlington, WA are the best way to replace multiple teeth affordably.

Facts about Dentures You Should Know

If you need to replace missing teeth, here are a few dentures facts to consider:

  • Removable dentures are available in two types: full (complete) and partial.
  • A full or complete denture is used when all the teeth in your upper jaw, lower jaw, or both are missing teeth.
  • A denture that replaces a few missing teeth is called a partial. Partials are held in place with precision attachments or clasps hooked onto the remaining teeth.
  • Modern full and partial dentures are designed to fill the gaps and complete your smile.
  • Full and partial dentures provide facial support and give a fuller, youthful appearance to cheeks and lips.
  • When cared for properly, you can get 5-7 years of use before replacing your dentures.

How We Customize Your Full or Partial Dentures

Sets of full and partial dentures at Arlington dentist officeOnce you and Dr. Kim decide that dentures are right for you, we begin the planning process. This is your chance to customize the design of your dentures down to the smallest detail to ensure that you will love the final result.

You and Dr. Kim will collaborate to choose the right shade for the gum-colored base and artificial teeth. You’ll discuss the shape, size, and position of the artificial teeth, so they look natural and not too perfect. If you loved the look of your smile before tooth loss, we would work off of old photos; if not, we’ll customize a brand new look and a fabulous smile.

Implant-Retained Dentures Stay in Place

Traditional removable dentures can be loose and uncomfortable, leading to shifting and movement and dentures that don’t stay put. Our modern approach to dentures utilizes dental implants to improve their stability and overall function without sticky, inconvenient denture cream.

Dr. Kim places two or more dental implants in your jaw at our Arlington dental office and designs the denture with clasps attached to the implants. The result is dentures that don't shift and move and look, feel, and function as close to real teeth as possible in modern dentistry.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do missing teeth get in the way of everyday life? Maybe you are experiencing problems eating your favorite foods or don’t like the cosmetic appearance of missing teeth. Minor aspects of our daily lives usually taken for granted can prove more difficult than before without a fully intact smile.

What Types of Tooth Replacement Options Exist?

Thanks to many of the practices in modern dentistry, we provide our patients with several highly effective options to replace their missing teeth. We commonly recommend the following options to our patients in Arlington, Smokey Point, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Stanwood, Mount Vernon, and Sisco Heights.

Full and partial dentures: Dentures entirely replace the upper or lower teeth (or sometimes both sets). Dentures can restore smiles, lift sunken facial structures, and allow more efficient chewing.

Dental implants: Dental implants are a standard treatment for just one or a few missing teeth. Dental implants involve a titanium screw placement directly into the jawbone, which is the foundation for a custom dental crown placement to look and function like a natural tooth.

If you are interested in effective tooth replacement, we currently offer a dental implant special that may suit your needs!

Are you curious about teeth replacement options but unsure which one might work best for you? Many know of dentures as an established option for teeth replacement but might think they only work for a particular age group. Luckily, dentures work for everyone! No age limit or cutoff exists for dentures, as they effectively treat tooth loss in a broad range of patients.

Are Dentures Right for Me?

Upon booking an appointment regarding tooth replacement, Dr. Andrew Kim determines the most effective treatment for his patients. If either full or partial dentures can remedy the situation, a patient’s age will not affect the treatment of tooth loss with dentures. Dentures generally help in the following ways:

  • Fill in gaps left by missing teeth.
  • Improve the function of teeth while eating or speaking
  • Improved cosmetic appearance
  • Potential increase in self-esteem during social situations
  • Fit specifically for your mouth
  • Improve overall oral health

Other Options for Tooth Replacement

Dr. Andrew Kim and our friendly staff at Sound Dental Solutions provide patients in Arlington, Smokey Point, Marysville, Lake Stevens, Stanwood, Mount Vernon, and Sisco Heights with the option of dental implants. Dental implants are a permanent solution to tooth loss, while dentures are removable and will ultimately need replacing. Many patients choose to combine the affordability of dentures with the stability of dental implants.
